SATI BREAKDOWN
Part 1
CONTEXT
Movement Vocabulary
‘The rules of language help us understand each other, and ourselves’
This session will be about the set up, growth, and/or consolidation of a Vinyasa practice which asks more than to ’go with flow’, and with that speaks of the ‘purpose and direction’ of one’s practice. We will explore what can really be asked of ourselves in the context of a Vinyasa sequence, but also what we can realistically expect to receive from a Flow sequence.
Part 2
DIFFERENTIATION
Movement within the body VS movement within space
‘All learning comes from Differentiation!’
This session will be about growing the capacity to differentiate 'this from that’ in our practice, so as to help us define and accomplish whatever goals (big or small) we have as yoga practitioners. We will use a sequence from the SPACE & FLOW repertoire and break down what is happening both within the body and within space, and discuss what works and doesn’t, and why.
Part 3
ARTISTRY
Vinyasa is art, science, but also very much play
“Do not fear mistakes. There are none.” Miles Davis
The artistry session will be about SEQUENCING… What it means, what it takes, and what you can do to make a Vinyasa sequence become Sacred Geometry or a dance for you and others to enjoy!
If you want, and up to two weeks after the course finishes, you will also receive feedback and guidance on the making and refinement of your own Vinyasa sequence. See an example of individual feedback HERE
